Future Goals and Aspirations
We aim to establish retreat destinations with world-class facilities and pristine wilderness. Our goal is to run 30 retreats a year, attracting top talent and high-profile speakers. We aspire to create a ripple effect that positively impacts our clients, fostering a culture of leadership, innovation, and sustainability. By empowering leaders, we contribute to a better, more sustainable future.
What Makes Us Unique
Distinctive Approach to Leadership Development: Leverage the ‘force multiplier’ of coaching, nature and adventure.
Why? Individually each element has powerful impacts on leadership, team development, and business outcomes, but coupled, its a different story. Extended time in nature can increase our creative problem-solving by 50% and reduce our cortisol (stress levels) by 16%. As an individual we also know the strong benefits of extended time in nature and stepping outside your comfort zone. Science now backs it up. Meanwhile professional executive individual, group or team coaching can help solve complex team problems, achieve business outcomes and personal transformation.
We have honed our practices and principles to leverage the interaction effects. We leverage the combination by discovery and pre co-design, and fostering rich dialogue on retreat. Our expert coaches, facilitators, subject matter experts and wilderness guides lead experiences focusing on team development, well-being, stress reduction, creativity, and productivity, activating personal and team growth.
Vertical Development and Growth
We mostly work to develop teams and leaders ‘vertically’, leaving the ‘horizontal’ development to other valued providers. See our Journal for a blog on ‘vertical’ development. We also value the work of Ken Wilbur, and the excellent insights from ‘The Leadership Circle Profile’, which enables Ken’s contributions to evolving leaders and teams. For example, our work over the last decade has been to help nurture leaders’ growth to move from Reactive to Creative, and from Creative to Integral Leadership. By taking a creative, strategic, flexible, and interdependent approach, Leaders in the Wild has put itself at the forefront of wilderness-based executive offsites. We have grown significantly since our launch in 2022, establishing key local partnerships, and enabling the conversations and connections that matter most to our clients.

Passion for Nature and Transformative Experiences
Leaders in the Wild was born from our passion for the outdoors and belief in nature’s transformative power. We founded the company to offer premium, nature-based retreats.
Sustainable Practices and Humble Beginnings
Located on the Surf Coast of Victoria, our retreats provide an exclusive bush setting. Committed to sustainability, we operate with a light footprint. We started as a husband and wife team, hosting leadership programs at a hired wilderness retreat venue. COVID’s impact on travel and gatherings led us to host small groups in a premium outdoor setting near Melbourne. Since our launch in 2022, we have grown significantly, establishing key partnerships and enabling important conversations.
